Kokum, also known as Garcinia indica, is a fruit bearing plant that grows along the Konkan coast of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The outer peel of the fruit is sun dried and used as a souring agent in Goan cuisine. 

It can be added to fish curries, Solkadi (a digestive drink accompanying meals) and other dishes like Amsol.
