Xacuti Masala Powder: Ready to use Xacuti masala powder.
Use 1 kg Beef/Mutton/Chicken (In Goa it was traditionally Beef/Chicken). Roast half a grated coconut. Grind a paste of the roasted coconut, 1 onion and 2 tbs ginger-garlic paste. Shallow fry finely cut 3 green chilies, 2 onions and green coriander leaves till the onion turns brown. Then add the roasted coconut ground paste and 4 tbs of Xacuti masala powder. Add the meat and cook for a while. Add some coconut milk and wait till the meat turns tender. Then add some more coconut milk together with 1 tbs of vinegar, and some tamarind. You may sprinkle some green coriander and green chilies for taste.
